Energy Technology Incubation Centers and Demonstration Sites
In keeping with our commitment to grow the region's energy industry, Power Up Now hosts an incubator program for entrepreneurs and early-stage companies. Our technology incubation centers and demonstration sites are designed specifically to meet the needs of energy technology companies, from development and testing facilities to technical and marketing advice from industry experts.
We can provide space at three well-appointed and accessible yet secure locations. All three locations feature class A and B office space, laboratory facilities, indoor and outdoor space for product demonstration and beta testing, data collection and real-time feedback capabilities, IT infrastructure, and shared office services. Space and services are customized; all tenants determine the type of space and level of support they will require.
An additional goal of Power Up Now will be formation of a seed capital fund focused on Energy Tech start-ups. We anticipate roll out of this program in late 2012.

Certified Electric Vehicle Charging Station Installation
The number of electric cars on U.S. roads is expected to increase dramatically in the coming years. As the popularity of these vehicles grows, so will the demand for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in commercial, municipal, and residential locations. In fact, based on industry projections, the U.S. will be home to 1.5 million vehicle charging stations by 2017. Power Up Now's team of experienced, certified installers-endorsed by all major automobile manufacturers-will ensure that charging stations meet the exacting safety and operating standards set by the electrical and automotive industries.

Lighting and Energy Control Systems Assessment and Installation
Lighting is responsible for up to 38% of electricity expenses in commercial buildings. According to the nonprofit New Buildings Institute, advanced lighting controls-such as dimmers, occupancy sensors, photo sensors, relay modules, and communication-based control devices-can reduce lighting energy costs by 50% in existing buildings and 35% or more in new construction. To help businesses realize these savings, Power Up Now trains and certifies electricians and electrical contractors in the design and installation of advanced lighting control systems.

The +5 Quality Guarantee
Offered by Power Up Now partners NECA and IBEW, the +5 Quality Guarantee provides added protection for buyers of newly built homes constructed by Northeastern Illinois NECA/IBEW contractors. As its name suggests, the program guarantees the electrical work in newly built homes for five years beyond the builder's one-year warranty-at no additional cost to the homeowner.
